Ahmed Gallab, who records as Sinkane, released his third album, Mean Love, late last summer. This latest collection of eclectic songs richly mines Sinkane's own Sudanese background with forays into ebullient, percussive Afropop (he's an accomplished drummer), and it also reflects his more experimental work with the likes of Caribou, David Byrne and Yeasayer.
Sinkane will be at Rough Trade on February 15 and The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to the gig. Enter for a chance to win by this Sunday, February 8.
