Well, this is a no-brainer. Want to see one of New York's most totemic bands? A life force of this city's rock 'n' roll history? The iconic quartet Television, whose 1977 debut Marquee Moon persuaded an entire generation of musicians to go out and form a band, is playing Irving Plaza on December 28.
Television has gone through some slight lineup changes over the years, notably the departure of Richard Lloyd in 2007 due to ill health, but Tom Verlaine, Billy Ficca and Fred Smith, along with Lloyd's replacement Jimmy Rip. will be on hand when Television plays Irving Plaza.
The Alternate Side has a precious handful of tickets; just enter by Sunday, December 14, for a chance to win.
